Book description…

Buddhist Sacred art and Christian iconography: can they have anything in common? This book is about Buddhist religious art as seen from a Christian perspective. It might seem that Buddhism and Christianity have little or nothing in common, yet there is a mystical dimension in religious art that some times transcends cultural and theological boundaries. Significant differences exist between the beliefs and practices of both religions, and those differences must be respected. Yet in their respective forms of religious art surprising commonalities are found. This book by Professor Lester Bundy helps to explain some of the similarities, differences, and limits of Buddhist and Christian religious images. Head Minister of Tri-State & Denver Buddhist Temple Rev. Doei Fujii Fr. Lester Bundy has written a significant book about the role of art and iconography in religion, focusing on both Buddhism and Christianity. A book which reminds us about the great importance of such religious art is thus quite important and should be widely read. John F. Kane, Emeritus Professor and Former Chair, Religious Studies, Regis University.

Product description…

All of us are survivors. Some are physical survivors, having survived death or serious injuries. Others are emotional survivors. A few of us have survived many things in life. Why do some survive, a few numerous times, while others do not? Perhaps it is because the survivor still has an important purpose for being left alive, with mind intact. Is it not a reasonable conclusion to believe that a survivor has a personal Guardian Angel who has the job of keeping him or her alive until that purpose is fulfilled? Does the survivor know the purpose for which he or she has been spared; or perhaps is fulfilling that purpose unawares? When someone has survived time after time; is there a message that he or she should be seeking the purpose for the survivals? This is a story of one person’s numerous survivals and his quest to discover the reason he has been spared and the purpose for which he has been left on the earth. There is also one disappointment in life that has not been survived and from which his Guardian Angel cannot save him. This is a book about survival, by a survivor, for survivors. It may also help others to survive crises encountered in life.

Product description…

Imagine that your assignment is to write about what you observe for future generations. What a daunting job that would be! Will your observations make sense to those who come after you? This was the dilemma of messengers from ancient times. The gods were wowing them with events they could not understand, and the people recorded what they saw. But often we interpret these recordings without applying logic, science, or texts. Many people believe what they believe because it is generally accepted. Some only accept interpretations that are confirmed by their version of The Holy Books, and they consider any use of reason in religious matters to be misleading and impermissible. According to such people, man is too mortal to understand the ways of God. In God Is Not Enough—a groundbreaking and thought-provoking book—the author attempts to deconstruct the puzzles surrounding the concept of God. Who is He? Why were we created? Jesus Christ is the Son of God, but which God? And are these questions really unanswerable?
