“Publishing my first book was made easier with the guidance of my Author Representative. I am so pleased with the end results and would recommend Outskirts Press Publishing to other authors.”
A lifelong resident of Greensburg, PA, Anita L. Leonard attended Mercy Hospital School of Nurse, Pittsburgh PA and graduated as a Registered Nurse. At the age of 34, Anita returned to academia and graduated from Seton Hill University with a BA in Sociology and a minor in English, after which she obtained a Master in Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh. It was during those years at Seton Hill that she found a love for writing. As years passed Anita and her husband, Larry raised four sons and now have eight grandchildren. Each son and grandchild inspired her with their diverse interests. There was always a family pet to love and an athletic event to watch. Pittsburgh sports were the center of many family conversations and gatherings. Anita’s love of animals and sports seemed a perfect combination for the theme of a children’s book.
The Surprise Discovery! Three sisters are starting their summer vacation playing with friends in the front yard, which turned into a surprise discovery under a bush in the neighbor’s yard, a tiny grey kitten. The girls set out to convince their Mom and Dad that the kitten needed a home. Although Mom was easily convinced, their Dad would be a challenge. This delightful story takes a few twists and turns until the sisters gave this lost kitten a “furever” home.
